The Geese on the Capitol

Were said boo to.  The word ‘storm’ is used in all the reports.  Now to me that means a determined assault on a fortification.  No ‘storm’ is over in 5 mins. with no resistance from the defenders.  Very strange considering that the presence of a large crowd of protesters was expected among whom would be violent types up for mayhem.  There was a very inadequate preparation.

Could it have been a bear trap which conveniently Trump fell into?  If appropriate precautions had been taken the mob would have never got near the main building.  Then the fallacy of post hoc propter hoc would not be installed in the mind.  Here is sedition and insurrection made patent that points back to the sedition of electoral fraud claims.  How very adjacent.

Christmas Menu and Lullaby

((Svengali - Et maintenant dors, ma mignonne!  Et maintenant dormir, mon cher!))

Before the First World War an editorial in the Skibbereen Eagle (West Cork) began - The Skibbereen Eagle has its eye on the Tsar.  I have my eye on President Trump for the moment and foresee the Biden Xmas dinner. (excuse the bog French)

Turkey a la Orange avec les petites ballotines farci

Aperitif: Ruby Porto

Pommes de Terre ‘big guy’ / Jus Burismo surtout

Desert: Freeman souffle Y’all.

The Biden trot looks like a donkey evading a halter but of one thing we may be sure - he did not mastermind this farce.   Maybe no one did.  Maybe the materials were left lying around and right thinking people did the right thing.   If it had occurred in the Ukraine there would be talk of sending an observer there to oversee the elections in future.  Hunter, there’s a job for you.

One positive: with years of talk of American interference in the election there may not be time to start a foreign war.  Ah General Blinken.  Cue  “Wynken, Blynken and Nod”

'And the First to Stop Crying Award' goes to David Bromwich

My ‘First to Stop Crying’ award (recall: stop crying
goes to David Bromwich. As a scholar of Edmund Burke and a man who has conned well the ‘sweet ‘n sour’ of the master it will be interesting to discover how the whining puppies, that have been put outside to do their business on a cold day, will take it. I am unlikely to find out what they may paste on him not reading at all in the tweet world whose denizens if they ever rest on the ground of sense are like swifts unable to launch again. His lectures (Sterling Prof. at Yale) if he ever gives any to the gen pop may be turbulent.
